05 2013 – 11 2014 JOINT INTEGRITY INSPECTOR at Kellogg Joint Venture Gorgon, employment under an asset integrity company called Hydratight but treated as KJVG Gorgon Employee, (20/10 days FIFO, Barrow Island, Australia)
http://www.hydratight.com/en . Gorgon LNG project , Barrow Island , Western Australia.
This Inspection is slightly different than the previous roles that I have been doing. On this role I am more involved in Inspection of flanges known as flange management which is a sort of asset integrity. Updating a database known as FDMS, (like PDMS). Creating macro in Excel for reporting. Sometimes working with 3D model of the piping network. Reading and following P&ID (vendor packages), Isometric drawings (site packages). I also deal with preservation team to look at the condition of the materials and corrosion in certain part of the system like corrosion and preservation activities for the flanged joints. This discipline (flange management) becomes more fashion these days in critical LNG and subsea sites. I am keen to look even further as I am a degree qualified person with very good experience. Hydratight is a global business. It’s a part of KJVG and I work as Inspector from client side.
11 2011 – 05 2013 Quality Manager at Alltype Engineering at Naval Base Perth Australia.
www.alltypeengineering.com.au
Good System in place. Beside ISO 9001:2008, as a metal fabrication business, ALLTYPE Engineering is badged to ISO 3834 as well (special ISO for welding fabrication industry). Since I joined, we got audited to maintain the requirement of ISO 3834 for one of our projects which was very good and revealed to a very positive report in compliance with 3834. Being extremely busy, we handle fabrication projects using full Tig or Tig/Stick (GTAW/SMAW/MMAW) or STT/FCAW, SAW (sub arc welding) from clients like CHEVRON via SLC (SAIPEM LEIGHTON consortium in Gorgon LNG project), WATER CORPORATION, DMC CIVIL, SSWA, MONODELPHOUS etc… ALLTYPE has 2 fabrication shop carbon steel and stainless steel (316L, duplex and super duplex). I am involved in workshop field inspection as well as compiling MDRs, producing weld traceability, material traceability etc. overseeing quality management of those 2 fabrication workshops; I also visit sites nearby in a town Warrona occasionally where there is water pipeline under construction. I develop project Quality plan (maintaining revisions and document control), submit several ITP’s for approval, Develop Project Audit Procedure and Quality document (QA) as well as visual field Inspection (QC). In ALLTYPE engineering, I dealt with mild steel cement lined pipe fabrication and spooling, steel structure fabrication and stainless steel welding. We out source some services like galvanizing, blast and painting and NDT. I attend quality related meetings and have 2 welding inspectors and 1 document controller reporting to me I oversee painting sub-contractors like CAPE and CMC in Naval Base and their quality documents and attend quality Inspection in their yard. I am not officially NACE certified inspector but being a degree qualified in materials science (metallurgy) and working in industry for more than 10 years I have good experience and understanding of abrasive blasting and coating processes and attend Inspection visits, witnessing production tests in coating. Oversee all of these processes in a capacity of a QA/QC Manager. Some of the projects are in service plants where we used hot tapping (connecting the existing live pipeline to the new constructed pipeline) which is a good experience and has its own weld procedures and temperature monitoring.
05 2011 – 11 2011 | QA/QC Inspection Engineer (FIFO: fly in fly out from to site on 23/7) SAZEH Consultants, http://www.sazeh.com South of IRAN
Joined a QA/QC firm inside DAELIM (Korean Contractor) for Phase12-South Pars Gas Refinery development project, a Consortium of DAELIM (Korea), SAZEH, KAYSON & IIND Co. The whole plant was built in 3 different EPC contracts, EPC1, EPC2 and EPC3. I worked within scope of EPC2. We are in Pre-Cast Concrete Structures-Erection stage. Our major QA/QC activity is to perform Inspection using RFI/FIN (Request for Inspection/Field Inspection Notice) and our Civil ITP for this stage includes grouting Inspection for each column, chipping, cleaning, grouting, verification of cube strength of grout, and I get subcontractor to fill up Formats like fresh concrete and compressive strength test etc.
Develop and maintain ITP tracker based on Work Breakdown structure (WBS) using multidiscipline QA/QC expertise. Then most recently, the piping fabrication just began, the welding school at site is now operating to qualify welders and we have also automatic welding machines at piping shop gets operated by a Korean sub contractor. There is also a shop for slag copper blasting and coating / wrapping pipes which I also supervise that one as a part of scope.
Achievements: Got familiar with culture of Korean companies. (i.e. daily exercise at site). Studied a full 72 pages Civil Inspection and Test Plan (from Site Filling, Earthwork,Foundations,Concrete, steel structure, road works, including Pre-Cast Concrete Structures-Erection works) with more than 30 forms and checklists which increased my civil knowledge beside existing Mechanical experties, And based on that I can administrate the whole Quality system in Civil as well as I could in Mechanical disciplines. |
