The construction industry is experiencing renewed demand for skills from both inside and outside the UK, it has been claimed.
Industry analyst Paul Rayne said that the sector is beginning to recover from the economic downturn and companies are looking for skilled workers to take their firm forwards and help to stimulate growth.
He said that the increase in housing prices last year is also having a significant effect on demand for new homes.
According to the expert, this will be good news for both the construction sector and the UK economy as a whole.
Mr Rayne added: “We are also seeing a general increase in demand for building services and maintenance staff across both the commercial and residential sectors.”
The news comes after it was recently revealed that the government will bring in skilled foreign workers in order to ensure that Olympic building projects are completed on time and under budget.
