The employing company provides comprehensive consulting, engineering, procurement, project management and operations support services to the oil, gas and renewable energy sectors.

The Role

The Workplace Assessor will carry out assessment of technicians in accordance with client guidelines. This will include on site assessment and collation of appropriate reports.

The purpose of the role is to carry out assessment of technicians in the workplace to a predetermine competence assurance standard.

Reporting directly to the Competence Assurance Services Manager and liaising with the client’s HR representatives. The primary function of these positions is assessment of technicians by:

• Planning assessments
• Conducting assessments
• Judging evidence and making assessment decisions
• Delivering feedback to candidates and assessors
• Maintaining accurate records on client’s database

Required to make formal workplace assessment against an approved standard and record decisions of competence achievement and give feedback to candidates

Must be able to review the assessment methods available and provide solutions to carry out the role in the most safe and efficient way.

Requirements

• Experience in the role of maintenance technician in the Oil and Gas Industry or similar process industry is preferred.
• Ability to work unsupervised.
• Must have good communication skills and report writing ability.
• The role requires computer literacy and the ability to use most Microsoft packages.
