Engineering Manager needed in Kuwait

Skills Provision is searching for an Engineering Manager to join a company in Kuwait.

The employing company is a regional supplier of water and electricity. They own and operate a diverse and growing portfolio of generation and distribution businesses.

The Role

Main responsibilities: This is a senior position within the business with overall responsibility for maintenance of the entire facility with the highest level of safety, including the entire maintenance budget

• People development, coaching, mentoring and growing leaders
• Managing and optimizing LTSA, work with OEM and non-OEM in establishing optimal solutions
• Leading any capital improvement projects after technical and economic analysis and should be familiar with business models
• Implementing best practices in maintenance management, outage and contractor management, root cause analysis and help improve the plant’s reliability to world class levels
• Maintaining strong relationship with external stakeholders
• Performing any other duties, tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned

Requirements

• A minimum of ten years of experience in the power industry with progressive career in leadership role with proven success
• Spent major portion of his / her career in CCGT plants with experience of GE frame 9E gas turbines and desalination plants being an added advantage
• Possess a very strong mechanical, electrical or instrumentation background with equally sound knowledge of all maintenance practices and GGCT operations
• Preferably have a 4-year engineering degree, though not mandatory
• Possess very strong inter-personal skills with a “whatever it takes” attitude and be willing to spend most of his/her time in the plant in an effort to improve reliability of the facility to world class levels
• Possess successful experience in negotiating, planning and working with contractors
• Possess strong business, commercial and legal knowledge with very good oral and written communication skills
• Be able to formulate, sell and execute strategies
