Skills Provision is searching for an Accounting Manager for a company in Tanzania, Africa.

The Accounting Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of all accounting systems.

The Role

• Responsible for all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, reimbursable invoices, general ledger, monthly closing procedures, financial reporting, and cash management.
• Develop, documents, implements and monitor accounting systems, policies and procedures, including control procedures.
• Ensure that controls are communicated and adhered to in all processes.
• Manage the functional areas of financial reporting and control, budgeting, forecasting, and audit management information.
• With Executive Director, contribute to company’s short- and long-range planning and budgeting.
• Manage year-end/month-end accounting close cycle; prepares year-end/ month-end financial statement. Ensures timely and accurate year-end /month-end close and reporting.
• Analyse review and maintain overall general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable systems.
• Produce monthly project reports and accurate draft monthly financial statements.
• Provide support to the Board of Directors, Finance Committee.
• Performs other related duties as required.

Requirements

• Hold a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Finance
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Hold secondary, industry relevant qualifications
• Working experience with accounting software, strong IT skills
• Must be committed to accuracy, timeliness and working as a team player to assist staff and Board with their requirements for financial information
• Good communication, problem solving, and analytical mind-set
• Familiar with standard accounting concepts, practices and procedures
