The Role

• Co-ordinate the performance of multi-trade IWTs to achieve required performance metrics in terms of cost, quality and schedule and programme milestones for compartment and block production
• Monitor the performance of the team and take appropriate corrective action where the performance of the team falls below required standards
• Evaluate and implement process improvements within area
• Make recommendations for potential investors to improve performance
• Coach and advise the team on effective work methods to achieve performance standards
• Challenge existing practices and implement productivity improved methods of working
• Analyse performance reports to monitor team performance against targets
• Use business systems (BMS) to maximise the information available to make effective operational decisions to improve production performance
• Implement and develop lean manufacturing tools and techniques

Requirements

• Experienced manager within the ship building sector
• Professional qualifications are desirable
• Health and safety qualified
• Inspirational leader
• Hard working nature
• Act as interface between the board of directors and shop floor workers
• Computer literate
