Chalwell Tower: Structural Analysis
Structural engineer for structural inspection and analysis of a 150ft steel trussed tower. Analysis was carried out using Finite Element program Visual Analysis. The purpose of the project was to model the tower and carry out wind calculations to verify if the tower can withstand a hurricane to ASCE7-10.
Andress Residence – 2 Storey Private Residence: New Build
Structural engineer for the design of a 2167sq.ft multi-story concrete frame residential building on the island of Tortola. Carrying out wind and seismic analysis and retaining wall design.
Hahnfeld Residence – Private Residence: Extension
Structural engineer for the design of an extension to existing building on the island of St Thomas. Works included the design of a concrete 2 storey building, pool, pool-deck and private guest bedroom. Carrying out wind and seismic analysis to ASCE 7-10.
Ross University: New Build
Structural engineer for the design of numerous campus buildings, such as campus center, daycare, schools and back of house structures in Dominica and St Kitts. Carrying out wind and seismic analysis to each specific area.
Johnson Residence – 2 Storey Private Residence: New Build
Structural engineer for a 2-story, 1660sq.ft (154sq.m) Thermasteel frame residential building on the island of Tortola. Thermasteel is a panelized system of light-gauge galvanized steel framing. This product was being used on this specific project for cost efficiency.
Penn Commercial Building: New Build
This project was an 8000sq.ft (743sq.m) 3-storey building constructed from reinforced masonry block walls and concrete shear piers with reinforced metal deck flooring. Cast in place reinforced concrete for all cisterns, grade level slabs and all retaining wall structures. Roof framing consisted of timber members and profile metal roof sheeting. Designed to resist Seismic Design Category D (UBC Zone 4 equivalent) and Category 3 hurricane wind loading.
Caribbean Cinemas – St Thomas: New Build
Structural design engineer for the new 19660sq.ft (1826sq.m) steel expansion building in St Thomas, USVI comprising of numerous cinema screens and a small shopping complex. Designed to resist Seismic Design Category D and Category 3 hurricane wind loading.
Maria’s By The Sea – Hotel: Extension to Exist Building
Design Engineer for the design of new 9900sq.ft (920sq.m) 5 storey concrete hotel with piled foundations in Road Town, Tortola. Designed to resist Seismic Design Category D and Category 3 hurricane wind loading.
Scrub Island Resort – Spa Treatment Buildings: New Build
Lead Engineer for design of new spa complex, incorporating design of new traditional timber roofs, reinforced concrete floors, retaining walls and foundations, with concrete masonry unit shear walls. Building and components designed to resist Seismic Design Category D (UBC Zone 4 equivalent) and Category 3 hurricane wind loading. Responsible for developing the design from initial design through to detailed design stage and completing structural drawings and detailing using Autocad 2009.
Seaglass Residence – 3 Storey Private Residence: New Build
Structural engineer for the design of a 2295sq.ft (213sq.m) multi-story concrete frame residential building on the island of Virgin Gorda, with accompanying 850sq.ft (79sq.m) guest house. Carrying out wind and seismic analysis and retaining wall design.
Maduro Office Building: New Build
Structural engineer for the full design of a 15665sq.ft (1455sq.m) multi-storey steel framed office building on the island of Tortola. Carrying out seismic analysis and shear wall design. Steel frame with reinforced concrete shear walls. Lateral loads include Category 3 hurricane and earthquake loads to Seismic Design Category D.
Mosquito Island – Service Building: New Build
Structural engineer for the design of a 10800sq.ft (1003sq.m) single-storey concrete and steel maintenance building on the island of Mosquito. The maintenance building comprises of retaining walls for the building’s main wall system. The structure sits alongside numerous other building on the island for Sir Richard Branson. Careful consideration is taken for seismic analysis and the use of echo-friendly materials.

Johnson Street Bridge: Retrofit
Deputy project manager for the rehabilitation/replacement strategy for a single leaf, heel trunnion bascule bridge in Victoria, B.C. Carrying out inspection works on the bridges substructure and superstructure.
Burnaby Pedestrian Bridge: New Build
Full time on-site resident structural engineer overseeing and inspecting the construction build of a 790ft (240m) long pedestrian bridge. Carrying out structural inspections of footing, column and slab reinforcement and providing structural guidance on site when needed. The bridge will be incorporated into a future urban village to be constructed on the adjacent site of the BSNF railway tracks, thus aesthetics are an important client requirement. An open channel form of steel space frame structure has been conceived to allow the bridge to negotiate Winston Street and the BNSF railway and to incorporate long tree level ramps on each side, to enhance the experience of the crossing.
West Coast Express: Retrofitt
Structural engineer for the structural modifications of the West Coast Express ticket stations. Overseeing the demolition of existing slabs and carrying out the re-design of new reinforced slab footings for the ticket machines.
CN Rail Culvert Inspections (Canadian National Railway):
Phase Manager for the inspection and structural assessment of 2400 culverts along 500 miles of CN rail tracks in northern British Columbia from Prince George to Prince Rupert.

Duloch Primary School, Fife:
Structural Engineer appointed to check the structural design of 7 primary schools throughout Fife.
Costco, Chester:
Deputy project manager and structural engineer for the 150,000sq.ft (13,935sq.m) retail warehouse. The structure was multi span steel portal on traditional pad and strip foundations with ground bearing floor slab. Responsibilities included analyzing the steel frame for dead, imposed and wind loads and designing the steel members to adequately take these loads. Upon design, translating the design into drawings for technicians was carried out to allow the structure to be constructed.

Resident structural and civil engineer for a 2year multi-million dollar inner-city project. Overseeing three office buildings for the de-stressing of walls, coring, cutting and removal of ground floor slabs. Deep excavation and tunneling works to allow the removal of steel slag, which was to be replaced with Type 1 infill.
