1. Makerere University Agricultural Research Institute Kabanyoro were we learned and did practicals on a farm setting though we concentrated in the dairy sector in activities like milking, dehorning, castration, how to care for a calf and disease control methods. \r\n2. Kisombwa Ranch in Mubende. This mainly deals with beef cattle and also meat goats. Here we fully indulged in activities like disease control practices, castration, feed formulation, feedlot system, care for calves, pregnancy testing, dehorning, identification and treatment of some diseases and feed preservation methods. I was able to gain all these skills.\r\n3. Egypt-Uganda Food Safety Limited in Bombo. This is a slaughter facility using Halal method. Here I gained skills in Antemortem, postmortem, meat processing, proper hygienic practices, waste management, by-product handling and quality assurance and quality control.
